As one of the core leaders at Anomaly, Jason DeLand sets the global vision for the agency. His role encompasses growth and compensation strategy and the leadership of Anomaly’s ventures business. Since co-founding Anomaly in 2004 at the ripe age of 27, the business has grown significantly both nationally and globally.
Anomaly now has seven offices with locations in Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, London, Amsterdam, Berlin and Shanghai, with over 500 employees worldwide. Anomaly’s success has earned Ad Age’s highest recognition, 2017 Agency of the Year, and Fast Company’s 50 Most Innovative Companies in the World.
DeLand leads major client business including Panera, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Dosist, and was the core leader for eight years running Global Budweiser, including creating three of the most liked and viewed Super Bowl ads of all time. In 2012, Adweek featured Jason on their 20 Most Influential People Under 40 list.
Additionally, he is one of the founding members and board chair of dosist, which has been recognized for its innovation and leadership in the medicinal cannabis space by TIME, Fast Company and Bloomberg. DeLand was recently recognized by High Times as one of the most 100 influential people in cannabis.
DeLand regularly serves as a press commentator and marketing expert, appearing on the likes of Charlie Rose, Bloomberg News, MSNBC and in Fast Company among others. He is also a board member of DREAM in Harlem NYC.
Jason graduated from Ithaca College where he studied communications and political science and lettered four years on the baseball team.
As a kid, DeLand grew up fly-fishing in the back streams and lakes of upstate New York. Today, you can likely find him on a rock somewhere in Montauk at night searching for the ever-elusive striped bass.
